Camp Redstone, Mahendrapur

Located in the foothills of the lower western Himalayas at an altitude of 3,300 feet (1000 meters) above sea level, in village ‘Mahendrapur’, the camp is spread over 20 acres of land set amidst lush green forest alongside ‘Song River’. The camp is situated in a valley, surrounded by River Streams, Mountains, Water Fall and Jungle. It’s an eco camp and gives you a feeling of peace and tranquility. With just 7 hours drive from Delhi you would find yourself cut from the city’s noise and pollution completely surrounded by wilderness.

Whether it’s a family weekend getaway, corporate outbound training or a school adventure trip, Camp Redstone is an ideal destination providing a range of adventure & water based activities (Obstacle course, Natural Wall Climbing, Rappelling, Ground Sports, short treks, hiking, swimming, body surfing, air rifle shooting, bird watching, cycling, cave exploration). Rafting can be arranged in Rishikesh, approx 60 km from the camp.z

We have 25 Canvas tents with an area of 10 by 12 feet permanently fixed. The tents have front zipped entrance, with two beds. Each bed has clean mattresses, bed sheet spread with quilts and pillows. The tents are pitched in a well spread out area, raised 2 feet above the ground.
The camp has the capacity to cater to a large group of upto 180 people at a time for Night stay (safari tents are pitched on the ground). And can cater easily to about 1000 people for a day program.

Private Lake: Only camp to have a private lake with fresh running river water. The lake is kept in its natural state. One can enjoy swimming, splashing and other water sports or just sit near the lake side with feet soaked in water.

Toilets and Bathroom: Toilets at the camp are situated in a central compound. There are12 units of western toilets and 5 units of Bathrooms having running water provision. Hot water is made available through Hamams/Geysers on request. All toilets have paper/tissue roll, & dustbin. There are 6 circular and artistic Washbasins for hand wash etc.

Lounge: Lounge area situated under the Pilkhan Tree is the central sitting area for guests who want to relax during the day. Its split in two steps for bar (on request only) and sit outs. The shade of the Pilkhan tree keeps the lounge area cool even during a hot summer day. Meals for small groups are generally served here.

Informal conference: Conference Facility is provided in the lounge area where about 80 people can sit in theatre style. Basic Stationary like board, Marker and Sheets are provided. For a bigger group the conference can be organized in the open air Amphi-theatre which can accommodate around 250 people at a time.

Service and Dining: Fine dining and professional service are few of the core values of Camp Red Stone. Our kitchen is equipped with modern facilities and maintained with hygienic conditions. We serve Indian cuisine along with local delicacies. Vegetarian /Non-vegetarian food, bar-be-que are also arranged around the campfire.

Open Air Amphitheatre: Open Air Amphitheatre at the camp facing the waterfall is used for outdoor workshops for schools and corporate as well for dining for large groups.

Hiking/Trekking: The camp site presents endless avenues for hiking enthusiasts. From a 2 hour hike in the surrounding area to a full day hike crossing rivers and sulphur springs, dams & more.

Rock Climbing: This is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations. Rock climbing is a physically & mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber’s strength, endurance, agility and balance along with mental control.

Rappelling: This exercise of using the ropes and harness helps you to learn the skills of climbing down.

River Crossing: You also learn the act of river crossing over the base tied across the stream near the camp.

Splash Swimming: The presence of perennial stream around the camp present good opportunities for day picnics around small pools up in the valley hidden from the whatsoever little population that exists in the area.

Cave Exploration: This in itself is a unique activity around our camp area. The cave has stalactites and stalagmites formation (which takes many years to form). You reach the cave by doing a short trek and then explore the cave from inside.

Body Surfing: Moving from one point to the other with the flow of the river. This is seasonal since flow of the river current changes with time.

Obstacle Course: An obstacle course is a series of challenging physical obstacles, whose aim is to test the individual’s or a team’s speed and endurance. Our obstacle course is set up with burma bridge, flying fox, balancing beam,etc.

Ground Sports: There is provision for ground sports like football, cricket, volleyball and badminton.

Mobile Camping: People looking only for peace and tranquility can have their tents pitched in the beautiful spots near the camp on request.

Rafting: Rafting is done in Shivpuri in the ganges (60 kms from the camp). The season for rafting is apt from Oct – April.

Visit to Mussorie: People can visit one of the most famous hill stations Mussoorie 38kms from camp.
