The approach to the camp involves a level walk of 20-25 minutes on the bank of Giri Ganga River. Located in a remote area near Solan in Himachal Pradesh, the camp combines nature, adventure and local culture to give its guests a unique accommodation and a soul-filling experience.
Kayaking and swimming in River Giri is a joy you could partake almost any time you feel like as the Camp is right on the bank. If swimming you think is strenuous, just soaking your feet in the flowing water with a book in your hand from a selection available in the Camp is another option. Or else, just let fish give you a pedicure.
Angling is yet another sport you can indulge in — if you are lucky you can hook a mahaseer. Also available on request is a ‘Fisherman’s Walk’, wherein you can accompany a local fisherman and learn about his tricks of the trade and of course more about the Giri and its habitual tricks and turns.
Apart from delving in things natural, you also have the option of other sports — both indoors (Carrom, Chess, Scrabble and Monopoly) and outdoors (volleyball on the sand and cricket). And as the sun sets, have a barb-e-cue on the river side along with a bonfire.
Rekindle your wonder lust by hiking into the woods and explore the ways the locals have adopted to adjust in these hard conditions.
All meals, board games, beach volleyball, cricket, swimming, trekking to nearby villages, nature walks and river trails
Notes:-
The Moon gives knowledge of time with its waxing and waning, closely connected with spiritual knowledge. It brings sharp awareness of the reality of impermanence through its changing cycles. It corresponds to the yin and yang of the ever-changing path of the Tao, urging us to cultivate firmness and flexibility with equanimity and compassion.
The Full Moon is a symbol of enlightened consciousness and bliss. In India, the festivals of the Full Moon are a sacred device to encourage people to become attuned to the natural tides in the universe at their great highs, and to share the joy and spiritual blessings with others in the community. Each such event is uniquely rooted within a particular seasonal cycle of growth and unfoldment.
At Giri Camp, we try to share the same joy and spiritual blessings with live music on the banks of Giri Ganga.
The gathering is held for minimum 15 guests or more.
