The trek takes you through the grasslands to the alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass (4150m) to the Yamuna watershed. The view on the way is really astonishing! The clear water of the lake with the trout’s making the occasional appearances makes the trek a perfect blend for the naturalist and offbeat trek lovers. On the other side of the coin, the Dodital is surrounded with the snow, makes the trek really very challenging during the winters. The best season to be there is April to October. On your way to the Dodital Hanuman chatty Trek one can spend his/her day sipping tea, catching up with the local tales, listening the myth of Dodithal Lake, roaming around the lake, birds sighting or just watching crystal clear water of the lake.
The trek starts from Delhi to Kuflon. You will have a Camp stay at Kuflon with bonfire in the evening, the trek moves to Bevra and Darwa which are surrounded by green bushes, colorful flowers, Rhododendron and Oak trees.
Itinerary Dodital Trek
Day 01: Delhi to camp Kuflon (1550m)
On the very first day, we will board the morning Shatabdi Express departing New Delhi at 7.00 am. to Kuflon. Reach Haridwar at 11:30 am. Then after transfer to Kuflon, there is the road head for Dodital, it is 11 kms from Uttarkashi in the valley of the Assi Ganga, which takes 6-7 hr to reach. Stay at night in Kuflon and enjoy the dinner.
Day 02: Camp Kuflon to Bevra (2400m) 4-5 hrs
Early in the morning have your breakfast. Second day will be for Bevra – this walk is 8 kms, which takes 4-5 hrs of which 2 kms is on the road along the Assiganga stream. Bevra is a camping spot. It is set 1.5 kms ahead of Agoda village. Bevra is the best way to wash out the first day of body aches in a stream.
Day 03: Bevra to Dodital (3310m) 6-7 hrs
Take early morning breakfast. Then start trek to Dodital, 16 kms, which will take 6-7 hrs. We will take our packed lunch with us. This walk is gradual. The Rhododendron and Oak trees mainly point the trek with occasional Seabuck thorn bushes. There are no surroundings settlements beyond Bevra except for the shepherd’s shelter in Majhi. There is a fresh water lake amidst thick jungle in Dodital at 10,000 ft. The brown trout in the lake adds to the attractiveness of this lake.
Day 04: Trek Dodital to Darwa Pass and back to Dodital. 4-5 hrs
On this day start early in the morning with packed breakfasts for Darwa Pass. The walk will take 2-3 hrs to reach the top of Darwa. Darwa top is 5 kms. It is a pass at a height of 4150m. The entire walk is an uphill climb. It starts with the climb along the feeder to dodital. There is a perfect setting for Himalayan wild flowers; Darwa top offers an amphitheatric view of the Bandarpunch and Swargarohini range of peaks. Have a chance to look at the breathtaking views and start towards the downhill, then reach the campsite for the hot lunch. Stay at night in hotel in dodital and relish our dinner.
Day 05: Trek Dodital to camp Kuflon (1550m) 6 -7 hrs
Next day morning, after having our light food, we will start walking on the downhill trek which at times is very steep to reach Kuflon Basics, which will take 6-8 hrs. Once we reach Kuflon, take a hot water bath or take a dip in the nearby natural water pool. Enjoy our dinner in camps followed by bonfire and share our mountain experiences.
Day 06: Camp Kuflon to Delhi
On this day, we will have an easy start. After an early lunch / brunch we will drive back (5 hrs) to Haridwar to board the evening Shatabdi to reach Delhi by 10:45 in the night
